Today I Am Thankful...

Today, the Schaab Scholars embarked on an awesome service learning activity and went to Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville.   Since I was having foot surgery today, I wasn't able to attend, however Mrs. Ruff was so impressed with how amazing the Schaab Scholars represented Field School!    I am so proud of their efforts and their hard word today!    As a reflection piece, students had to write me a letter telling me about their day (I love that technology already let's me read them - thanks, Google Classroom).  Check out some of these amazing reflections so far...
Over all, I thought it was AWESOME! I am going to go there with my family again and I will definitely go there for my birthday. When I go there on my birthday I will ask everyone to try to donate $20 to FMSC!
After that we sat down and saw how many kid we feed for a year we packed 92 boxes and fed 54 kids for a year after we got to sample the food the food that we made I thought it was ok
It was just as I remembered it. It was super fun. Usually a kid(not saying names) is mean to me, but he said good job K, and yeah you’re doing good, keep it up, etc. He made my day. I love doing the boxes. To me it is the best job. I did it the whole time .
It was sad that the kids were so skinny and they did not have very good education.
Dear Mrs. Schaab, today was really fun. We made the rice with rice, vitamins, veggies, and soy.
It was all really fun. I was focussed on feeding the children I did not say anything about being sore.
I had a great time at the field trip. we fed 54 kids for 1 year!

Thanks to Mrs. Ruff & our parent volunteers for taking the Schaab Scholars on such an amazing experience.   A HUGE THANK YOU to Miss Risk for planning this awesome field trip!

Check out more about the organization here.   I know I definitely want to check it out and help!

Other News to Note

Extracurriculars
I would love to see some games or performances!  If a Schaab Scholar has a schedule that he/she wants to share, I would love to try and make it to see your talent in action!  Email me or bring one in and I will make every effort to make it to one game/performance!

Postcards
Geography is a major focus in 4th grade, which we are shifting to after break. :)  If you are going somewhere fun, please send us a postcard or bring one back!  We'll be locating it on a map and finding out some important information about the area the postcard is from.   Also, if you have relatives from out of state, it would be fun to see postcards that way too!

Report Cards & Conferences
I really enjoyed meeting with all Schaab Scholars & their parents.   I know we discussed progress and goal setting, which in my mind is the most important.  On Friday, report cards will be coming home.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I look forward to helping the Schaab Scholars grow in Trimester 2!

Class Dojo Points
We will be starting after break at ZERO.    We will be targeting specific behaviors and really trying to emphasize positive behaviors and keeping track!   Please make sure to log in to your parent account to see your child's progress.

Gobble, Gobble!
I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving!  I know that I have a lot to be thankful for, and teaching your children is definitely on my list!  Enjoy the fall break and I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
