Last week we had a very busy week with our first round of PARCC testing. The Schaab Scholars completed the Math Assessments like rock stars. We had a few glitches however, with a lot of patience (& maybe a touch of panic) we got though it all! We had to be flexible and use patience, however, I know that students were really trying her best! This week, with our adjusted schedule, we'll be completing the three ELA tests. See more details in the schedule above, including Thursday's Walk a Thon, and an Earth Day assembly!
On Wednesday, we had another special visitor. Mrs. Morrison came to be our Guest Reader after lunch. She shared the prologue to a very intriguing series called, The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer. We were so engaged in these twists on fairy tales, and it's all we talked about that afternoon. If you are interested in reading any of the books, they are available through the Scholastic Book Order. Simply log into Scholastic Book Clubs, and search for The Land of Stories. Thank you so much to Mrs. Morrison for coming in to read to our class. If you'd like to come in and read to our class, sign up by clicking here.

Thank you so much to everyone for bringing in toilet paper for our toilet paper challenge! We had an amazing math session trying to create a figure with the largest area and perimeter that we could. Walking around the library (so we'd have a bit more space), the conversations that were happening were focused and very much sounding like mathematicians! We had many successes - however we had more opportunities for improvement! Our toilet paper challenge isn't over yet - we'll be continuing our constructing, conversations, and hopefully conclusion this week. Take a peek at the hard work in action. A huge thank you to Mrs. Kelly and Curriculum Specialist Mrs. Thomas for volunteering for our math activity. It was great having more adults in the room to guide this learning experience. Stay tuned for the conclusion!

love the toilet paper challenge!
